The heart of relaxation and fun for singles, couples and even families. MiMa, as the locals call it, is the right place for a weekend with all the comforts (possibly setting aside the diet for a few days!). Even the trips in the surrounding area offer many beautiful surprises.

“My Romagna, Romagna in bloom, you are the star, you are love…”. How many times have we sung and danced to the tune of the famous song by Raoul Casadei ?

After all, it's just like this: when you arrive in Romagna , you feel right away At home and this welcoming land where smiles and good humor reign takes your heart .

From the hills down to the sea, the landscape is stunning full of places to visit .

This time we focus on a seaside resort making some forays into nearby areas (which offer gems not to be missed).

The idea is to suggest a #Yesweekend of relaxation and well-deserved entertainment, but without giving up the pleasure of discovery.

We are located at Milano Marittima , a super popular destination not only for young people or hardened singles, but also for couples and families , because it is very comfortable and well served throughout. The beaches are well-equipped and well-kept, ideal for not lifting a finger and enjoying your holiday (sometimes you need to, eh!) and there are also many family hotel which offer many facilities.

The sea has been awarded the Blue Flag for some years and, even if the seabed is dark, it is beautiful and clean.

And then – drum roll – let's not forget the food: here you eat very well , you'll be spoiled for choice.

Which ones are they the 'must' dishes ? Apart from piadine (which we will tell you about later!), there are passatelli alle vongole (did you know that in Romagna clams are called 'poveracce'?), squid (which in Romagna they call fischioni), gratin from the Riviera and typical dessert, the Romagna donut soaked in wine.

One step away from MiMa there are also Cervia And Ravenna that deserve a trip out of town, trust me!

The perfect destination for one of your #YESWEEKEND obviously in the company of Mini Box by Balique ! <3

Where to sleep

Brazil Superior at MiMa: the Batani family has been welcoming guests with passion for more than 30 years. The hotel is located in a unique and quiet position, directly on the sea and only 5 minutes walk from the centre. The rooms have a sea view and you can bring your four-legged friends.

Club Family Hotel Milano Marittima : the ideal place if you have children with you. There are two hotels and they overlook the sea, with swimming pools, entertainment, 24-hour shows and lots of activities for younger guests.

Hat Hotel in Ravenna: if you prefer to stay in the 'city' area, the Albergo Cappello is housed in a wonderful Renaissance building in Ravenna. The ancient decorated rooms, the frescoes and the atmosphere make this place unique in its kind. There is also an excellent restaurant and a well-stocked wine shop.

Where to eat

The Piadinari: you can't say you've been to Romagna if you don't have a mega piadina prepared 'on the road' by the legendary piadina makers who knead the dough in their red and white and white and blue striped houses. With squacquerone, stracchino, mozzarella and cold cuts, but also with nutella and any other flavor that comes to mind. An essential stop! We vote for Piadina del Canalino , but we are curious to know which one you prefer, there are many schools of thought 😊

Spadafino Sea Restaurant : a great classic where you always eat very well, right in the center of MiMa. Pasta with fish ragout is one of the most loved dishes!

Spadafino Sea Restaurant

Loco Squad : a very strong tavern in fish cuisine (but not only) with attention to detail and with really good dishes. We like steamed crustaceans marinated with tropea, cherry tomatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Osteria del Gran Fritto (Bartolini) : it doesn't need many explanations, the realm of all types of fried food. Every now and then, without exaggerating

Osteria del Gran Fritto (Bartolini)

Zi'Teresa : it is one of the most historic restaurants in Milano Marittima, serving traditional dishes and hospitality typical of the place since 1947. The crudités and black cacio, pepper and tuna spaghetti are excellent.

Ancient trattoria at the Gallo 1909 in Ravenna: an Art Nouveau jewel, a restaurant in a building with large rooms, stained glass windows, statues and furnishings with a D'Annunzio flavor. The kitchen offers traditional dishes and follows the seasons: homemade pasta, blue fish from the Adriatic, truffles and wild asparagine from Pineta, game and mushrooms from the Romagna hills. The internal garden is a marvel!

What to do

Enjoy the beach: in Milano Marittima, as we have told you, the beaches are well equipped. For those without children, we recommend the Royal Beach where you can also eat very well, or Attilio Beach super cool – sunbeds equipped with an ergonomic cushion and umbrellas with a safety 'egg' – and with an excellent Fish Bar.

Still, there is Cala Zingaro , a particular bathing establishment: it is located in an unusual position away from the centre, and was created with a harmony of essential materials, colors and sounds, ideal for letting go of stress. There is also a relaxing herb/garden. Finally, there is for families Peperittima Beach with entertainment, playroom and library.

A trip to the ancient salt pans of Cervia: there is the Camillone Salt Pan which has maintained its 'artisanal' nature and the production of salt takes place as in the past, with wooden tools and traditional procedures. The guided tours they are very interesting: the isalinari explain how they work, but they also tell a lot of anecdotes and stories about Cervia salt, a 'sweet' and tasty salt. And… if you love the flamingos , know that at certain times you will see many of them resting in the salt pans!

Ps: while you're at it, taste it mussels from Cervia which are very particular, as well as sweet salt chocolate , a goodness!

The mosaics of Ravenna + bonus: Ravenna is famous all over the world for its mosaics. If you pass by, visit the Mausoleum of Galla Placida, the Roman Empress. The bonus? Do you know that the grave of Dante Alighieri is it in Ravenna? Exiled from his hometown, he died right here. It is a neoclassical tomb located in the basilica of San Francesco, in the center of Ravenna.

The butterfly house of Cervia: it is located in the pine forest and is a magical place. Hundreds of colorful tropical butterflies fly into an immense greenhouse every day. In the 500 square meters both the climate and the environment of the rainforests are recreated: you will see butterflies everywhere, perched on the flowers or on the large leaves of ficus and banana trees.

A day in Mirabiliandia : guaranteed fun for young and old! Do you want not to go to Mirabilandia, the most famous amusement park in Romagna? Impossible. In Romagna you have to let yourself go!
